Designed for maximum tonal versatility, the Classic J is the perfect passive pickup for your Jazz Bass. Use the tone control to roll off the high-end and hit the bridge pickup for fat “Jaco” inspired tones, or open up all controls and find enough punch, harmonics and clarity for some serious slap-work. The aged magnets allow for plectrum work that retains detail and a crisp attack.

Wax potted to eliminate microphonic feedback. RWRP for noise cancelling operation when both pickups are in series or parallel.

Note: The Classic J set was sold under the name "Jazz Plus" for many years - Nothing has changed except the name!

New for 2024 - Due to popular demand, we've begun to make a variation of the Classic J with staggered poles - these work especially well with basses with more rounded fingerboards, such as the 7 1/4" boards found on vintage models and reissues.

Marvelous

Its been a while till i get the pickups installed. The wholle electorics has been replaced and set up the way i have an additonal feature: both pickups work humbacker way. The range of sound is amazing, and this old fender like growl.... i love it. Thank you!

Chinese manufactured pu are not really appealing to me, but after reading all the great reviews I decided to give tonerider pu's a chance. Just installed the jazz-plus neck pu in my squier standard jazz bass. Very nice rich tones indeed, big upgrade from the original pu. In combination with a 0.68 tone cap it gives me a lovely deep reggae sound. I only use the neck pu so I didn't bother to install a bridge pu, but for the price maybe I should have. Excellent vallue for money.
