Octane

Best Pickup ive played so far. Enough Punch and Attack for Singing Leads and Riffs, works perfectly with the Volume Pot to clear it up. Gives some "active" Vibes with the transparency and the dynamic of a passive Pickup. Tonerider Octane will be my first choice for a bridge pickup for Punkrock, Metal and Downtunings. Matches perfectly with a Generator in the Neck.

Installed in a RGR652 with a 5 way and even the split / parallel wirings convinced me.

I installed the Octane in a G&L Fallout guitar, and it sounds excellent. It sounds really smooth and rounded with fantastic mids. The highs are there, but there is zero harshness, and there's just enough bass. Not boomy. It sounds equally great for rhythms and leads, but would likely be more suited to rock and harder rock styles. I can highly recommend this one, I just hope you like some mids, because this has it.

It is the fifth octane bridge pickup that I have bought, I think I say it all with this!
Perfect in every facet: sound, dynamics and punch with perfect balance, don't be fooled that it's a pickup for only hi-gain sounds, cleans excellently well by lowering the volume knob a bit.
I would highlight a slight difference between versions without and with a cover plate (love both versions), the nickel/gold pickup has a little less output and makes it perfect for Gibson-type guitars.
I recently acquired the octane neck and sounds excellent both alone and in combination with the octane bridge, I guarantee you that you will not want anything else after installing this tandem on any guitar!!

I have always loved the sound of the super 70 handpieces that Ibanez used on their Les Paul models a decade ago. It was a sound with many nuances, as well as aggressiveness, but difficult to find, since they stopped being manufactured a long time ago. However, I found out about these pure octane from Tonerider and I didn't even think about it (I was already playing with an advantage, I already bought a set of Tonerider's classic humbuckers and I knew I was going to get it right). The sound of these Octanes do not disappoint, and I like them so much that I ended up mounting them on my RGT 3020. Pure wonder!!
